Making Progress Against Sex Discrimination
Nationally, AAUW has a Legal Advocacy Fund to support women who are fighting sexual discrimination in its many forms. Locally, we raise money to support this fund, as well as draw attention to regional instances of discrimination and inequity.
The Legal Advocacy Fund has supported plantiffs with grievances ranging from sexual harassment, wrongful termination, Title IX violations, retaliation, and denial of tenure. For summaries of cases AAUW has supported, please see the national Legal Advocacy website.
The Legal Advocacy also supports positive efforts towards gender equity through its annual Progress in Equity award.
